  • Early slump - who or what to blame?

Since the Braves are in an early slump, losing 6 of their past 10, who or what do you think is to blame? My vote goes to the lack of consistency. One day, they blow out a "good" (in quotations because it's early in the season) team, then the next day, they get shellacked by a team like Washington.

What or who do you think is to blame for this?

I'm getting sick of this "we need to dole out blame" crap, so I'm only going to say this once and I'm not going to elaborate on it.

The two main reasons are an inconsistent offense and overuse of the bullpen.

    Thank you and good night.

Along with freak injuries. Slumps are apart of baseball. Fans will talk about it because its what we do. There's no reason to point blame towards somebody, but the points above sum up why the Braves are, where they are.

I wasn't asking for who to blame it on. I noticed the relievers, whenever they pitch get exhausted easier because of being overworked. And I did notice the offense has been inconsistent. One night they win 12-1 over, say, for example, the Mets, but lose 3-0 to a team like Washington.

          Kind of odd, eh?

Maybe you mean, lose 4-0 to a team like Florida, since the Braves have done that. Both of the losses to Washington, especially this past Sunday, were one-run games that easily could have gone their way.

Starters in the rotation are hurt.

Closers and setup men...and then some in the bullpen are hurt.

All of this coming at the beginning of the year, especially when the manager doesnt want to have his starters pitch more than 6 or 7 innings to begin with...well, it kind of makes it necessary for the next guy the next night out to have to go out and try and pull up the slack.

I dont care how good your rotation or bullpen is, when you have this many people hurt at the same time, ...even the Yanks or Sox will have their problems.

I dont sweat our rotation or bullpen. Once healthy, I will put them up against any in the league. Even now, we come into tonights game with the 3rd best starting ERA in the NL...and just look at what John did tonight.

Our offense? I dont think there is another NL offense I would trade ours for.

Once we get healthy, everyone had better look out.

This is a team built for the playoffs.
