I have been thinking about this lately. Does anyone think that the Braves may need to make some early season trades in order to compensate for the ailing rotation and bullpen? Maybe trade for a proven reliever. I just don't know who we would trade at this point. Corky Miller and Phil Stockman may be two people able to be traded. What do you guys think?

I personally would like to see Jo Jo called up at some point. I think if not, maybe a trade for a pitcher whom we could get for cheap and then if it didn't work out, we could let go. Maybe some bullpen help possibly, I would love to see Joe Nathan in a Braves Uni, but I don't think that will happen. I wonder if Wren would ever consider signing Matt Morris, although I don't know about that, but he might could eat some innings and save the bullpen. I would not trade any of our young guys like Blanco, Prado, or anyone of the guys that are projected up in the majors soon. I wish though that the Braves could get Lincecum from the Giants."I never thought home runs were all that exciting. I still think the triple is the most exciting thing in baseball. To me, a triple is like a guy taking the ball on his 1-yard line and running 99 yards for a touchdown." -Hank Aaron

OF that could play in/are playing now: b.jones, anderson, blanco, schafer, frenchy, matt diaz, schafer, very low chance to reggie taylor(been to a couple games, pretty good so far)
middle infielders: escobar, k.johnson, gotay, prado, lillibridge(OF too), infante
I see that as the braves great strength. The depth up the middle. Of course they might wanna save some of those people to trade for a 1B if we lose tex.

Yeah, I was looking up his stats the other day, and they were pretty ugly. If Smoltz goes to the pen, then I think trading for a young guy would be good. Like another JJ. Could we take a risk on trading for someone like Saunders of the Angels. I dont think they would give him up, but he has good stuff. We would probably have to trade the whole farm system again, so that should probably not be done. But just getting a pitcher like JJ would be awesome. Wish we could have had Volquez included in the deal with Tex last year. He is absolutely cruising for the Reds."I never thought home runs were all that exciting. Do you think that now Smoltz is going to the pen most likely that Reyes will be called up eventually? I would like to see him in some major league action again."I never thought home runs were all that exciting. I still think the triple is the most exciting thing in baseball. That means you're pretty much putting leadership in the rotation into the hands of Hudson and Jurrjens.
For that matter, why not let Jurrjens close until Gonzalez gets back instead of sacrificing a franchise player? You need to keep his innings down slightly anyhow (not much but some)

We should trade some of those middle infielders for an arm in the rotation. Pretty much the only person we can rely on right now is Jurrjens and he is to young to put that much pressure on. This season will get ugly if we don't. We don't have to worry about trading for a first baseman next year do you guys not remember that Thomas Flowers kid?trusted traders: Rockhound,xholdourownx,Drillbit,Tebow15

Are you kidding about JJ closing? Why does he need to close? Smoltz is going to close because he can't take starting right now due to his shoulder. With him closing, we have a top 5 closer easily-he had more saves than Gagne during his good stretch with the Dodgers. JJ deserves to start because he has been killing it. Reyes is going to rock it when he starts on Saturday, I can feel it. Good luck to him!"I never thought home runs were all that exciting. Hey Imgran
Tim Hudson - CG, 3 hit, 0 BB, 10k, 0 ER
Yeah, we'll give the leadership role to Hudson. He deserves it."I never thought home runs were all that exciting. I still think the triple is the most exciting thing in baseball. To me, a triple is like a guy taking the ball on his 1-yard line and running 99 yards for a touchdown." -Hank Aaron
