  • JoJo Reyes left early

So ya this sucks that JoJo had to leave early cause he had a blister on his finger is what they said. Hope this doesn't occur a lot cause he was pitching good. Had some stupid things happen in the first inning but he didn't do to bad. Buddy came in for relieve and his shutting the padres down... We just need to get our bats alive.

The Braves definitely need to start hitting. What happened to the bats we had during the reds series?

On a side note, watching and listening to Smoltz being miked up is definitely entertaining.
I collect any and all Braves cards and memorabilia. I also collect baseballs and Pre-1060's Topps cards.

Buddy Carlyle left, too, with a strained muscle in his neck.

Any position players want to pitch?

13 runs in three games, and the third one isn't over yet. I didn't know that was bad. Over four runs a game.

It's not bad. But 4 runs a game isn't good when the other team scores 4. It's okay when they score 1 or 2.

then wouldn't that be on the pitching and not the hitting? I think all three of the games against the pads the braves pitching gave up early leads and the offense picked up the slack and got the win.

plus, despite record the padres are better than the reds. I think.

But today they had to pick up the slack and it was a close game. Even if you put it on the pitching and say the hitting can pick up the slack, then what has happened in all those 1-run games we have lost?

Yeah I agree with Chip&Smoltz, the offense did score 13 runs in 3 games, they don't have to score 10 runs every game to be effective, the 5 today was enough, and if it hadn't of been, it would have been because of pitching. I think the offense is scoring well right now. The addition of Norton brings a lot to the team; it is amazing that he has gotten off to such a good start! I hope he keeps it up! Don't get too worried about the offense unless they start scoring 2-3 runs a game. They just need to keep up what they are doing now.
"I never thought home runs were all that exciting. I still think the triple is the most exciting thing in baseball. To me, a triple is like a guy taking the ball on his 1-yard line and running 99 yards for a touchdown." -Hank Aaron

The Braves seem to have a few decent veteran fill-ins now (Gotay, Norton and Infante). They won't be hurting in that department.

I've very impressed he's exactly what we needed to get over the hump....Now we just need to keep putting some wins together and some quality starts and we are going to run away with this thing.

No need to worry about Reyes. It's just a blister. Those aren't serious.

so I did a little digging for the one run games. Lost in the ninth or extra innings: 4, Lost lead in the 7th or 8th inninng: 2, lost lead before the 7th (these I would blame on lack of offense): 3. The other 6 I would blame on pitching because it was lost by the pen, with little or in some cases no chance for the offense to score again. 6/9 blame pitching, 2/3 blame hitting

yea I liked his quote about, leaving before it became a blister, because he didn't wanna miss his next start. Also, that he was sorry to the bullpen. I found that very mature.
