Hey, I know this has nothing to do with the Braves, but I have to give a shout out to Jon Lester. What a story this kid is. He is a miracle, surviving cancer and to throw a no hitter is amazing! What a story. :applaud:

EDIT: Skimmed over the no-hitter part. Heh. That really is a great story.Last edited by SamtheBravesFan; 05-19-2008, 07:31 PM.46 wins to match last year's total

Yeah, I could have put it on the Red Sox forum, but what is the difference; as baseball fans we should be able to talk about all good stories throughout the sport from the perspective of a Braves fan of course. If it would have been against the Braves, I would have wanted the no-hitter to end. I simply put it to show how players can turn their life around even from the worst of situations, which he did and thought I would point it out. As a fan of the sport, I find myself rooting for players with good stories such as this one, and maybe others feel the same way."I never thought home runs were all that exciting. I still think the triple is the most exciting thing in baseball. To me, a triple is like a guy taking the ball on his 1-yard line and running 99 yards for a touchdown." -Hank Aaron

Actually Lester does have a connection to the Braves. I believe in 2006 there was a rumor about the Red Sox and Braves discussing a trade. In the trade the Red Sox would get Andruw Jones while the Braves would get Lester and Crisp. The Braves wanted Craig Hansen and the Red Sox were unwilling to give him up and the deal pretty much died.
Anyway my dad being a huge Red Sox fan I appluad Mr. Lester for his great game last night. :applaud::applaud:

I remember that trade rumor. I was thinking that Lowrie was also thrown in their somehow. That could have been a nice haul for the Braves. Wasn't this around the time that Andruw was close to his 10/5 service time?My collection of autographs: TTM Autos

PBF is right they were going to try to trade Andrew for coco crisp and this young pitcher that was a big prospect by the likes of I think his name was Jon Lester. Like the guy said before this is a baseball forum. He is talking baseball and it was a great accomplishment. Get off his back for saying the kid pitched a great game which he did. You guys on here get so over board about the littlest things.trusted traders: Rockhound,xholdourownx,Drillbit,Tebow15
