  • Dropping like flies?

Was looking at the game log for today and saw this:

    Code:
Tim Hudson left the game with an undisclosed injury.
    ...
Blaine Boyer left the game with an undisclosed injury.
Anyone watching the game able to tell me if these are serious or not? I'd hate to see Hudson miss a large stretch of time.
Every passing hour brings the Solar System forty-three thousand miles closer to Globular Cluster M13 in Hercules -- and still there are some misfits who insist that there is no such thing as progress.

Hudson had a "leg cramp", but I don't know if that's serious or not. I know there are some people that wouldn't mind seeing Blaine going down with an injury *shrugs*

Don't forget about Jurrjens and the blister.

So that's why he left that game? Hm. There have been a lot of blisters this year on the Braves.

Ok, now the rotation is really getting a little thin.

Smoltz out for the season, possibly career.
Glavine sprains elbow, heads to the DL.
Jurrjens sprains ankle on dugout steps.

Are we going to see Charlie Morton in ATL sometime soon? What's the news on Hampton's latest comback attempt?

Everything is pointing to Morton getting the start Saturday or Sunday against the Angels.

As for Hampton last I heard he was doing long throwns, I believe 150 feet. I refuse to fall for the illusion that is a healthy Mike Hampton again so I am just writing him off.

Yes. No need to bank on Hampton until he is actually pitching in an official regulation game.

I'm not putting any faith in Hampton at all. I hope they don't resign him at the end of the season.
They need Mazzone back to develop their young pitching.
And someone needs to stop Francoeur from acting like Andruw Jones and trying to hit a home run every at-bat. He's killing them and Cox keeps moving him up in the order. :noidea

No way do the Braves bring back Hampton unless it is for the major league minimum.

Also I am against bringing back Mazzone if the Braves are going to make a pitching coach change (which I don't think they should do anyway) I think they should bring up Guy Hansen from Triple A.

I'm not familiar with every option out there, but he did help them a lot. What's the guys name you're referring to? I'll look him up.

Guy Hansen is the Triple AAA Richmond Braves Pitching coach and is really the main guy the Braves go to when pitchers seem to have pitching mechanic problems. If I remember correctly guys like Jaret Wright, Jo-Jo Reyes and a couple others were helped a good amount by him.

AH yes, I've heard about him.
I just don't pay much attention to minor leagues since the Macon team moved to Rome.

I agree with you here. Francouer is really struggling.

wasn't it roger who worked out reyes leg mechanics? i think roger has done a fine job. Maybe a new strength and conditioning coach or something to help prevent some injuries.

I believe both have had their hands in on Jo-Jo.
