  • Charlie Morton makes Major League Debut Tonight Against LA

I figured that this deserved its own thread. I admit that I am looking forward to this start tonight.

Here are his overall minor league stats and his gamelog for this season.

    Good luck, Charlie!

It is great to see and just shows to me why I really love this team. The Braves could have given up on him a couple years ago but they stuck with him having confidence in their developmental guys and now here he is making his major league debut.

      • Chone Figgins strikes out swinging
      • Maicer Izturis strikes out looking
      • Garrett Anderson grounds out to Kelly Johnson

I think you could tell he had a some butterflies as he was throwing balls with the first two hitters. (some of the Anderson pitches were borderline)

Also I had heard about his 4 seamer, curve, slider and change but it was nice to see he also has what looks like a 2 seamer.

Good debut by Morton. He's got some nice movement on his pitches. He reminds me a little of Wainwright. Maybe it was the jersey number or something.

i wish he was pitching tonight, cause i don't get peachtree or any of the carriers that show the braves games. Cannot wait to see him person live or in person. He "looked" pretty solid.

ESPN has the game tonight, surely you get that, right?

Sorry I didn't finish Morton's play-by-play. My connection conked out on me last night.
