  • 4 Rumored Players

4 pitchers could wind up in Atlanta via trade. 2 south paws and 2 rightys.

    1. Juan Cruz. Remember him. The guy who in 04' was superb in our bullpen. We traded him away for Hudson. Well he was ineffective last year for the A's but this spring he has been rejuvenated it seems with these stats. Only downside is he's a righty. If you can call that a downside.

    51 Cruz RP 5 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 6.1 7 2 .136

    2. Jimmy Gobble. The guy has been less than great in his big leauge career. But the Royals have been high on him and plus he is a lefty. But look at these spring stats. Has he finally turned the corner?

    3. Jeremy Affeldt. The Royals have been really really high on this guy. He has struggled in his big leauge career much. He again has struggled this spring. He is a lefty and maybe the Braves could turn him around. The Royals aren't the most vigilant team. For instance the Braves found out Matt Diaz was lacking Depth perception, the D'Rays or Royals never gave him a vision test.So maybe the braves could solve his problems.

    4. Franklyn German. This righty pitched pretty well for the Tigers in 2005, but he is now out of options and has had a so-so spring so he probably will not make the team. So the Tigers will probably trade him to get a person in return. He has had problems with control in the past and has had a subpar spring.

Make that two more as the Mariners join the pot.

The two pitchers are Gil Meche and Julio Mateo. Both have pitched in 2 games this spring. Meche has done well and Mateo has struggled.

The braves are now looking at some Giants reliever. 3 are leftys which are Fassero, Kline, and Tachsner. Plus the Giants are shopping Tyler Walker. He's a pretty solid reliever.

Juan Cruz has been traded to the D'Backs. I doubt we could get him in a trade before the season begins.
