2006 Braves Season

This doesn't have anything to do with the Braves season, but I didn't want to start a new thread just for 1 picture even if it is Hank Aaron.

I just flipped it over to TBS. The good news is Andruw is back in the lineup. We definitely need him healthy. However, Giles is out of the lineup. Pete Orr is starting in his place. We desperately need everybody healthy to make a run. Hopefully, Hudson will continue to pitch well tonight.

Anybody wathcing the game now. The home plate umpire just got hit with a broken bat. They are carrying him off the field on a spine board. I don't remember ever seeing this in all my years of watching baseball. He was conscious and moving his arms, but it doesn't look very good. He didn't make any effort to get up or move his legs. Hopefully, it is not as serious as it looks, and he will make a quick recovery.

Looking at the replays, the bat broke and the barrel of the bat hit Jerry Lane in the neck. He took about two steps and then fell down. He moved his arms, but didn't make any effort to get up. Skip Caray has reported that since they are in a foot ball stadium, Jerry Lane is receiving care at the stadium. He said that the pain was reported in his jaw and not his neck. That is all the information they have given up to now.

Bravos win again! Hudson settled down quickly and if it wasn't for the ump injury (god speed on his recovery) he might have finished the 8th.

Hopefully our offense will be behind James tonight and keep this momentum going!

Three in a Row! B-Mac was outstanding, and a big nod to Chipper, Orr, Rent, Giles, and Andruw.

Great win today! I won't mention sweep tomorrow because I don't want to jinx it!

It was great to see another good outing from Chuck James. Chipper hammered three pitches. He was robbed of a double in his fourth at bat. Pete Orr has really stepped up and played well. Cormier had good stuff in his last outing, he just had a little bit of bad luck. Anyway, we have got some momentum and things are starting to look pretty good. Let's keep it up Braves.

Braves lose a game they could of easily won today. Laroche bunted into DP with 0 outs in the 9th inning. Whoever told him to bunt should be punched in the face. Francoeur's HR was amazing though on a good note.

I didn't mind the decision to bunt; Laroche just executed it poorly. It was an easy double play. If it had been successful then we would have had runners on 2n'd and 3'rd with 1 out. A base hit would have given us the lead and sac fly or ground ball would have tied the game. In any event, this is a tough loss, but we still won two out of three. We need to keep winning series, but we also need to sweep every once in a while.

The bullpen loss gives them 15 "blows" on the season. What constitutes a "blown game" you ask? A blown game is when a bullpen pitcher loses the game.
