It is sad that we had to bring in Wickman during a game like that. It was a great game for our offense, but another reminder of how bad our bullpen is except for Wickman.

Well I reading on probable pitchers, and it looks like Kyle Davies will be our starter for Saturday? Sweetness!

I can only imagine that Cormier would stay in the rotation, and Oscar would move back into the bullpen. I'd be happy with The Vulture back at middle-relief duties.

It's a shame Baez is out for the season. Baez and Villareal setting up Wickman in the 9th would be awesome. I guess I'll have to restore my faith in Paronto.

This makes 4 straight wins with John Smoltz going tomorrow. Andruw Jones made an absolutely incredible play tonight.

I don't really want to bring this up with the Braves playing so well, but has anyone else noticed that McCann hasn't been able to throw anybody out in quite a while. I'm hoping it is just because his ankle is bothering him. He was throwing out runners earlier in the season, but the last time I remember seeing him throw out a runner was Jose Reyes on a pitchout.

I'm speechless right now, not because the Braves are winning, but because we still have a big gap to fill and the Braves are winning. These two situations put me in a bind and I don't know what to say. Can they still come back?

Smoltz never looked comfortable tonight. He changed out the balls quite frequently even for him. We tried to make a comeback, but couldn't quite pull it off. I'm looking forward to seeing Davies make his return on Saturday. Rosters expand tomorrow, so we will be seeing Thorman, Jordan, Devine, and a handful of other players again. Hopefully Jordan will get a few at bats since this might be his last year. I know he's said he wants to come back next year, but I don't think it is likely. The last month of the season should be fairly interesting.

Questionable Web Gem order: Andruw's catch was #2 to Taveras' dive?

I didn't see Taveras' play, but it is hard to believe that any play was better than Andruw's. I wonder if they looked at the entire play or just the jump and catch. I don't think any other center fielder in baseball could play as shallow as Andruw and get to that ball. It was one of the finest plays I have seen all year. In fact, no play stands out in my mind as being better so far this year.

The Braves will activate Joey Devine, Willy Aybar, and Kyle Davies off the DL. Brayan Pena, Scott Thorman, and Joey Devine will be recalled.

I've probably said "this series" will decide the season about 5 times in the last few weeks, but this series against the Phillies will really decide the season. I won't put a number on it.
