2006 Braves Season

I hope he works harder on plate patience this winter. Last year he worked on his swing and it paid dividends, now he just has to put that same effort into plate discipline.

I think his swing is part of the problem. I think it's too slow.

I hope he does. I browse the Braves Journal blog a lot and half the people on there at least think Francoeur is incapable of learning anything to fix his SO/BB problem. Some even go so far as to call him retarded. I guess the negativity is a bit infectious.

I wouldn't call him retarted, but I'm not infected with the negativity. Every player has weaknesses, some just aren't as glaring as others.

Welcome to Baseball-Fever, Francoeurstein (catchy name )!! I agree, calling him retarted is going a little bit too far. He has had to learn faster than most major leaguers, he only spent two full seasons in the minors.

I know. I do think that that the "retarded" comments were made out of pure frustration there. However, I think all of us can agree that Frenchy needs to improve. Maybe a full spring training session can help.

I haven't been on much, seeing as it's the offseason and all.

I have been checking the Braves webpage everyday for updates and I can't wait until I start seeing transactions. Of course, that probably won't be for a while.

I feel awfully good about 2007. *knock on wood* I can see us having another injury prone year like we did in 06.

All the pieces are there right now and will be acquired through the off-season. It's just a matter of fitting them all together.
