  • Don't tell me Ramirez is injured

I'm watching the Braves @ Dodgers game, and it looks like Ramirez pulled a hamstring during the top of the 4th. Now, don't tell me he could go on the DL, because it would mean a blow to the starting rotation. And I'm worried about all these guys getting injured already.

I'm not sure how much of a blow it would be to lose Ramirez, judging from the way he pitched last year and in this game...
Every passing hour brings the Solar System forty-three thousand miles closer to Globular Cluster M13 in Hercules -- and still there are some misfits who insist that there is no such thing as progress.

They would probably just put Thomson back in the rotation, not like that is something to get excited about.

I agree. I actually thought Thomson pitched pretty well out of the pen yesterday...

Edit: Boy, just looked at the box score; maybe I remember wrong.

Ramirez is on the DL again, Boyer is back at AAA. Thomson is back in the rotation.

I think calling up Joey Devine and Ken Ray should help the bullpen out quite a bit. Devine wants to prove he's got the stuff to be the closer and Ray knows he is about down to his last chance in the majors. If that is motivation for somebody to get it all they've got then nothing is.

Kevin Barry would have been a better call up

Check out his minor league stats here:

I know Kevin Ray is a nice story, and everyone wants to see Joey Devine make up for last year, but Kevin barry has actually shown himself to deserve to be there more. AND he could be a quick impact player...

I know Ray struck out Bonds, and I hope him continued success, but the better move would have been Kevin Barry

Cox has long shown his loyalty to vets...

Bobby has about always shown a love of giving vets and the 'old-timers' another shot in the big leagues IF they can prove they deserve another shot.

Just have to look at Brian Jordan and Julio Franco for recent examples of that.

I figured Ray would get the call-up if he could only show he knew how to pitch. I'm glad though it worked out Devine and Ray to both get the callup
