Sure that may not be Chipper-Esque but I wouldn't go as far as saying mediocre.
It was certainly mediocre for him power-wise. The walks were still there, and that made up the meat of his OPSes.

He had a bad year compared to other team's 3 hitters. Hopefully Glaus can be the good luck charm to Chipper the way Tex was.

As a Met fan I've always disliked him. But HE was a worthy opponent. I will be at the Braves last game in NY on Sept 19th if that really is his last game against the Mets. Gotta give him his due as one of the best players ever.

Hope not, I was hoping he'd get to 500 dingers.

I think Chipper will hang in there another year or two. As far as how this season goes, who knows. He had a batting title in 2008 and a career worst season in 2009, this season can go either direction imo. I think Chipper feels strongly about leading the Braves back on top of the division before he goes. I believe it is one of a few goals he has set for himself before he hangs it up.

Chipper apparently still feels strongly about hanging it up if this year is like last year.

That is a good point Francoeurstein. A 118 OPS+ is still a good number. To put that in perspective, Ichiro Suzuki has a career OPS+ of 118. In a "bad year" Chipper has about the same hitting value as Suzuki averages over his career. The fact that many consider Chipper's 09 campaign a "bad year" speaks volumes about the magnificent ballplayer Chipper has been.
