Hopefully, you'll have a similar embarrassment of riches to choose from in most of this year's games.

            JJ had 0 earned runs.

We will see Glaus in the 7 hole by this weekend if he keeps having games like today

Smoltz mentioned it in the postgame show, but it bears repeating: JJ deserves a lot of credit for toughing out that miserable inning.

He threw a lot of pitches, many of them high stress, got stuck with a bad call and an inbetween play that was no one's fault and he still limited them to 2 runs. That takes focus and effort under stress, something all too many guys in that situation wouldn't have been able to come up with.

how about some credit to medlen? coming in and pitching the sixth and seventh without giving up a run and bridging the gap to the dominant back end of the pen

No doubt, but it would have been just a good performance anyway because the Braves were down 2-1 by then.

Same vein as Jurrjens from yesterday. Props to Eric O'Flaherty and Jesse Chavez for their multiple inning shutout stints to increase the Braves bullpen scoreless streak to 10 2/3 innings.

Note: I was convinced on Braves-Nation to make Prado the Bronze Star and I noticed that I gave JJ an HM for a similar performance that Hanson had tonight.

A great game, badly impacted (throughout, but especially late) by a crew of maddeningly incompetent umpires.
