Sure he will. Heck with BJ's two hits tonight, he's hitting .175 and Heyward's down to .146. We never thought BJ would hit anything ever again, right?

After last night's game one's timing is not the best for this argument.

I don't even understand it. It's not so simple to just cut Uggla: the Braves would have to eat $26 million, including next year's $13 million AND waste resources in order to try to find a replacement. Heck, even Schoenfield admits at the end that it's pointless for the Braves to try unless there is a solution that they can be comfortable with.

Heyward went 0-for-5 with 4 Ks. Is he ever going to hit?

No, he's never going to hit ever again. The Braves should just cut him and let Jordan Schafer play full time.

We've been held to 3 runs our less in nine of our 20 games this season. I think we really need a true leadoff hitter, the Heyward experiment isn't working. Our starers have pitched masterfully in nearly every game this year and our bats haven't been there to support.

True, we've went up against 1 and 2's in most of those close games, but we should be able to muster something!

Whomever is put in the leadoff spot will only be able to get on base by hitting. Andrelton Simmons is the closest alternative and he's already been tried once last year.

The Braves are a sorry team in hitting for average in general anyway, and I'm sure Wren knew this when he built the team.

Team ERA of 2.04 with an ERA+ or 181 through 24 games. WOW. I've never seen anything like it.....

Unfortunately, none of our starters are pitching at a sustainable level, which is okay. However, as they regress, our offense needs to at least be league average.

It doesn't even need to be league average. The only time they won the World Series, the offense was below average with just 4.48 R/G (average 4.63). Almost last in league batting average. But they were second in homers and just average in slugging.

I believe it needs to be at least league average. Minor-Santana-Wood-Teheran aren't quite the same caliber as Maddux-Glavine-Smoltz and whoever else you plug in.
