So far, a pretty eventful spring considering. Peterson's pretty much sewn up the second base job and Wandy Rodriguez is doing very nice so far. And we're supposed to be Markakis tomorrow, yay!

Sam, in your opinion, what are Pedro Ciriaco's chances of making the club?

Slim. He's batting average heavy as evidenced by his past stats. They're starting to try Gosselin in the outfield which might mean they prefer to use him as a super-utility man. Given the fact that he can actually hit doubles at a better rate, that may leave Ciriaco out of the picture. Not a bad guy to have around, sure, but I'm leaning toward him being another Jose Constanza. Hey, they have three of them now! (Jose, Eric, and Pedro)

With another reliever dropping out in James Russell's release, that pretty much guarantees Luis Avilan a spot and leaves open the door for Brady Feigl. Hope he can step up.

Interesting development with the claiming of Andrew McKirahan off waivers. Even though he hasn't been above Double-A, he has to be on the major league roster for the season or offer him back to the Cubs because the Marlins took him in the Rule 5 Draft.
