He's good for a third catcher, sure, but I don't know how much he can be relied on full time. He'll get another chance if Suzuki bombs, I'm sure.

Actually, Recker is a pretty good pick up. I was sorry to see the Mets let him walk. He does bring some offense so I'm not surprised to see him steal a base or 2..

Haha. Don't worry I've been keeping up with everything. It's pretty much all going to be posted in one go right now.

I'm not as worried about that as most people are. Partly because I care about the WBC and this is the only time it can realistically be done. And two, I like peeking in at all the other teams. Look what happened last year: Freddie was recovering from the wrist injury, had only an okay spring , then goes on to have the best season of his life.

    NETHERLANDS 5, KOREA 0

    W - Rick van den Hurk (1-0, 0.00)
    L - Kyu-min Woo (0-1, 7.36)
    S - None

    HR - Randolph Oduber (1)
    Jurickson Profar (1)

Good Days - Four Netherlands players had two hits: Andrelton Simmons (Angels), Profar (Rangers), Dashenko Ricardo (Curacao Neptunus) and Oduber (Neptunus). Five pitchers combined for the shutout, spearheaded by van den Hurk (SoftBank Hawks) and Diegomar Markwell (Neptunus). Shairon Martis (Lincoln Saltdogs), Tom Stuifbergen (Corendon Kinheim), and Loek van Mil (Neptunus) completed the shutout.

Woo-chan Cha (Samsung Lions) finished the game for Korea with 2 1/3 scoreless innings.

    JAPAN 11, CUBA 6

    W - Ayumu Ishikawa (1-0, 2.25)
    L - Yoanni Yera (0-1, 9,00)
    S - None

    HR - CUB - Alfredo Despaigne (1)
    JPN - Nobuhiro Matsuda (1)
    Yoshitomo Tsutsugo (1)

Good Days - Matsuda (Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks) led the way with four hits, three runs and four RBI. Tsutsugo (Yokohama DeNA Baystars), Ryosuke Kikuchi (Hiroshima Toyo Carp) and Hayato Sakamoto (Yomiuri Giants) all had two hits, with Sakamoto's knocks being two doubles. Ishikawa (Chiba Lotte Marines) allowed just two hits in four innings.

For Cuba, Yoelkis Cespedes (Alazanes de Granma) had three hits and Despaigne (Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks) and Yurisbel Garcial (Matanzas) added two each.

That's not bad. At least most of the team will actually have a spring training

Let's see.. there's Freeman (Canada), Teheran (Colombia) and Inciarte (Venezuela). Looks like that's it. Speaking of which:

    L - Chang-Yong Lim (0-1, 9.00)
    S - None

    HR - None

Don't think anyone saw that coming.

Good Days - Jason Marquis (FA) and Josh Zeid (New Britain Bees) bookeneded the staff with three scoreless frames each. Sam Fuld (FA) had two hits and Scotty Burcham (Rockies) also had two hits and got the go-ahead RBI in the 10th.
