Well I for one think if we have the same topic going in 3 places, Current Events, Cubs Forum and Sox Forum, you lose impact of a good debate, because you will have to either read all 3 and reply to all three, which is pointless, or ignore 2 of them and debate in one thread... but your point might not be heard because everyone else might be debating in the other thread.


I say do not duplicate the same topic, Current Events is the host of that thread, and let's all go to that one thread to debate this topic.

Quite true, though I have a pretty good memory for the most part and I remember hating the Bitter Rivals thread. Many of the posts weren't even on topic.

So am I one of the only Cubs fans that doesn't consider the Sox to really be a rival? I mean, they played, at most, 6 times a season, and now it's down to 4. Their standings mean nothing to each other. They just happen to play in the same city. I get more pumped up for games against the Pirates, to be honest. It has nothing to do with the White Sox themselves, and yes, I am a Chicagoan, but I just don't see it.

I agree. It's not a typical rivalry but it does still exist. These teams do not like each other and it shows on the field. Perhaps the Sox are bitter over being Chicago's second team?
