  • What are we expecting?

I am just wondering what is everyone expecting form Ronny Cedeno and Matt Murton. I will have polls for a few stats. I ask please only pick one for each category to keep results from lokking weird. I will have BA, HRs, Runs, RBIs, SBs, OBP and Slugging %. I think it will be interesting on what the results look like. i know this is a hotly disputed topic right now. I will start with the BA. I will post a new one each day. I will then make a thread with the winnings from each poll.

I think Cedeno's going to be in the .250 - .275 range. At this point his real value is defensively. He's not quite fully matured as a hitter. Murton is pretty much the opposite, although he's definitely not reached his full potential offensively (who has ever done that in 150 ML at bats?). I look for a .275 - .300 BA from him, with 15 - 25 dingers and a fairly high OBP.

*Off the topic of their stats, I don't think it's necessary to create 7 different polls. Instead just have people post their predictions in the 7 categories you mentioned.
A lot of people say this honor validates my career, but I didn't work hard for validation. I didn't play the game right because I saw a reward at the end of the tunnel. I played it right because that's what you're supposed to do, play it right and with respect. If this validates anything, it's that learning how to bunt and hit and run and turning two is more important than knowing where to find the little red light at the dug out camera. - Ryne Sandberg

Yea that sounds like a good idea. Deffinently save me time making the polls.

In that case, here's what I think:
        Code:
BA HR R RBI SB OBP SLG
        Cedeno .272 12 79 64 18 .329 .419
        Murton .291 22 90 75 7 .362 .471

Wow those would be really good numbers from them. I would love to see them do somethin like that. This is what I have for them.

          Cedeno
          .267 BA
          7 HR
          63 R
          49 RBI
          27 SB
          .348 OBP
          .412 SLG

          Murton
          .286 BA
          27 HR
          87 R
          84 RBI
          5 SB
          .384 OBP
          .521 SLG

Yea I could live with those numbers too. I hope its something like that.

I'll say Cedeno posts a line something like:

              BA - .260
              HR - 8
              RBI - 35
              OBP - .335
              SLG - .425
              OPS - .750

              Murton:

              BA - .315
              HR - 20
              RBI - 64
              OBP - .355
              SLG - .515
              OPS - .870

I think ndistops and Ravenlord are more realistic than us. Lets hope we're right though. And lets hope we get no injuries.

I firmly believe that Matt Murton will soon be a line drive hitting machinel.
