  • Opening Day at Wrigley

I purchased tickets to the Cubs home opener against the Cardinals. However, I'll have to drive into Chicago Thursday night and wouldn't arive until probably 3 in the morning. So, it would obviously not be an ideal situation. My question is: is it worth the drive? I'm already going to the Saturday game against St. Louis too, so I'm thinking about getting rid of my tickets to the home opener. Any thoughts? I've never been to Opening Day before; is it truly a great experience?

Never pass on the opportunity to catch the home opener at Wrigley, ESPECIALLY if it's against the Cards.

obviously, a lot depends on the weather. if its 45F or above, its an awesome experience. Last year just rocked for opening day. Three years ago kinda sucked, mostly because it was SOOOOO cold and snowy. (it was a makeup from the blizzard). Two years ago was really bad because it was rainy and windy and like 38 degrees.

12 years ago i was at the home opener and it was totally awesome (again, it was low 50's) and best time i had at a game up to that point. Tuffy Rhodes hit 3 homers, it was great. except that the cubs lost 12-8 at that point.

I wouldn't be able to make home opener either, but in the future, if anyone has extra (2 or more) tickets available for sale in the summer time, please post here before ebay cuz i'd definetly be interested, it just matters if i have enough time to get off work and have the $$ but it's worth a try. Besides, you'd feel better selling to a Cubs fan then to an unknown on like ebay. :-)

Maybe I'm being an ass here. Maybe I'm nuts. I don't know. All I know is this: If I had Cub home opener tix (not to mention it's against the Cards), I wouldn't be asking this question. Of course it's worth it. The question is, are you worthy of it?
