  • Rumor that Crisp may be Cub soon.

If this happens, it would not be a bad haul for Marquis and Fuld, although this would obviously bring into question Pie's role. Will Pie then be used as the final piece for the ridiculous demands for Roberts, or will this be a platoon situation? At least Crisp would bring a stellar glove to CF, and if he were to regain the bat he had in Cleveland, would be a very solid contributor this year.

Crisp is signed for two years at a reasonable 4.75M and 5.75M, plus 8M option with .5M buyout.

I would be shocked if Theo Epstein took that offer as constructed. Marquis offers nothing to the team, can't stay healthy even if he could, and would take a chance at a roster spot away from Bartolo Colon or Clay Buchholz, not players you want to block with mediocre talent signed to expensive multiple year deals. And we already have Fuld. His name is Jeff Corsaletti, or maybe Jonathan Van Every.

Basically this deal offers Boston nothing that will definitely improve the team. Find someway to fix that or I can't see Theo biting.

I never said this was likely, and would agree that Cubs would get more value than BoSox on this one.
