  • Pie out 3-5 days

after outpatient surgery for his twisted testicle.

that makes me wince just typing it!

Pie was scratched from the lineup Monday because of a recurrence of the testicular torsion, or twisted testicle, that cost him a day of workouts early in camp. The condition is not uncommon, and the corrective procedure is routine. But it's serious enough to affect blood flow and if left untreated could result in the loss of the testicle.

According to WebMD, the condition occurs most often in late adolescence or early adulthood, and the causes range from injury to the area, strenuous activity or, in some cases, for no apparent reason.

Pie, who isn't sure what caused his condition, originally hoped to have the surgery around the team's day off next week. A manual procedure alleviated the condition the first time it arose

I guess you could say he's been busting his balls to get a roster position.

I don't think that I want to know how it was "manually" set.

Guys, All I can say is you don't want to feel the pain that in involved in the condition, NOR the procedure that rectifies the condition.

I was literally crippled for a week dealing with the same embarrassing thing, until FINALLY I got help from a doctor.

Worst pain in my life... and to read he played though this pain leads me to only one conclusion...

          Pie... is on steroids.

          HAHAH!

Awesome. We'll make a .258 hitter out of him yet.

Lol, that one actually got me to laugh out loud.

Just a note to all the active members of BBF, I consider all of you the smartest baseball people I have ever communicated with and love everyday I am on here. Thank you all!
