  • Survey about the Curse - please help!

This survey is relating to the Curse of the Goat. The results will be used in a research project that I have to do for a college class. I'm interested in learning how Cub fans view the curse. So if you could answer these questions, it would be a great help!

    1. Male or Female?
    2. Have you always been a Cubs Fan?
If No, who were you a fan of before?
    3. Have you ever heard of the Curse before?
    4. Do you believe that there is a curse preventing the Cubs from going to the World Series?
If Yes, do you believe that it can be broken?
    5. Do you believe that some fans use the curse as an excuse for the Cubs loses?
    6. What reasons do you give to explain why the Cubs haven't won a World Series in 100 years?

    5. It's not a matter of opinion.... many have stated that they do
    6. Probably because they haven't fielded a good enough team

Not a Cubs Fan, but I've been to Wrigley Field several times.
I've heard of the Curse of the Billygoat.
      I don't believe in a curse.
I think some fans probably use it as an excuse.
I think the Cubs main problem is a history of bad management, going back to the PK Wrigley era.

        1) Male.
        2) Yes.
        3) Yes.
        4) No.
        5) Definately.
        6) The Cubs haven't had a complete team in all those years. They've had good players, but not the caliber one would need to win it all. Plain and simple. Since I've been a fan ( 1988 ), they would have a good pitching staff, but no hitting or they would have good hitting and decent pitching, but bad fielders. It was always something like that. No curse.

I thought the '03 team was deep enough to go the distance. But the wheels falling off the bus doesn't indicate a curse. It indicates that the wheels fell off the bus.

I agree. The 2003 season was our best shot to date. Bartman did seem a little like a curse, but he didn't surrender the slew of hits that followed that inning.

I think most fans understand that the Cubs just haven't been good enough to win, but they like having the excuse of a curse.
Never really had a complete team. I think we had the real deal in 2003 and 2004, but aside from having all the right players you still need to have some luck to win the WS.

2.Been a Cubs fan for life. Grew up watchin them with my Grandpa who passed in 2004.
                  3. Who hasn't heard of the curse
                  4. Sometimes I wonder. I don't srsly believe that it would work but I think that we should get a rally "goat" to toss around at Wrigley. I think it would be kind of cool
                  5. I don't blame the curse for anything but its one of those things that you cant help but joke about... you know its like someone asks you how the game was... and you reply ehh they're the same old cursed cubbies.
                  6. I honestly don't know why they haven't won the world series but it has brought fans together from around the country and even the world in some cases. I dont know what the fans would be like if they won the world series sometime in the last 100 years. All I know is that when they win I won't forget what my Grandpa went through his whole life, never getting to see them win, and what it means to be a Cubs fan.
                  Can you say S O R I A N O !!!

                        1. Male
                        2. Yes, more than I can remember.
                        3. Of course who hasn't living in Chi-Town. We read and hear about all baseball season.
                        4. I don't believe in the curse, but it is pretty weird what keeps happening to us every year.
                        5. Yes I'd say so.
                        6. I hate to bring up 1969, but we had a GREAT team back then and I don't know how we fell apart I was young back than. I think it was the Cubs organization they were just happy to bring in a million fans or more into the ball park and as long as the stands were filled it was great to them. It seems like now they have finally got their act together with all the free agent signings over the last couple of years. This could be our year. GO CUBS!!
We won't be late in 2008:gt
With a WORLD SERIES IN CHICAGO.
