  • tomorrow's game, and request for the mods

Who here will be watching, and do we have enough to merit an opening day running gameday thread like we did during the postseason last year? Also, we need a 2008 game results sticky thread.

      Pm the Cubbies mod: E.Banks#14

I'd do it, but don't want to "step into his territory".

This site might be too big and too universal to do this, but one of the cool things my KC Chiefs forum has is a live chatroom for gameday. I'd love to see something like that.

I'll be at the game today. so cant join in. I WAS going to be at Murphy's Bleachers at 5am this morning (for Mike n Mike show), but I am hedging my bets on the weather so I am working this morning and leaving for the park around noon.

I think for the most part we're going to be watching shots of the tarp, or old movies on WGN, as I highly doubt it's happening today. It's supposed to be an all-day rain in Chicago.

That doesn't help my fantasy stats.

We run seven pitchers with no distinction between starters and relievers, then eight position players and one utility player. My starting lineup this week:

P: CC Sabathia, Johan Santana, Chien-Ming Wang, Aaron Cook, Jeremy Accardo, Francisco Cordero, and Kerry Wood.
                      C: Geovany Soto.
IF: Derrek Lee, Aaron Hill, Aramis Ramirez, Troy Tulowitzki.
OF: Jason Bay, Michael Cuddyer, Alex Rios.
                      U: Chipper Jones.

I have Marmol on the bench as my insurance for if/when Wood gets hurt, but I've been offered a trade of Joe Borowski for Marmol and Wood. I'm strongly considering taking that offer. I have Rich Hill on the bench too, and I'll start him over Cook when he gets hot.

Don't take that offer. I don't expect Borowski to be the closer all year. Also it's not a good trade in general.

Actually, I think they were about the same because I lettered in all sports, and I was a two-time state decathlon champion.

My sophomore year I placed 2nd, and my junior and senior year - I got smart and piled up enough points between myself and second place where I didn't have to run the mile.

Good team, though you may want to sit Wang for a couple of games. Borowski's the safer bet, but Wood/Marmol has greater upside because I think they'll have better Ks and WHIPs. Plus, Cleveland's in a much tougher league and division. At least they get to play KC and White Sox multiple times.

The scoring is lopsided in favor of wins and saves (worth the same points-wise) such that we have one guy who has no starting pitchers anywhere on his roster. He did the same thing last year and won.

If Wang does poorly this week I may sit him in favor of Hill next week.

I fell asleep during the second rain delay. What did I miss?

Wow what a great game. The Fukudome HR is an early contender for moment of the year. I'm not a Cubs fan, but that was amazing. Even if they don't pull of the win.
