What was Mientkiewicz thinking, running on Alf? Guys that run slower than me shouldn't press for two like that.

Soriano throws out a running at second... and in my opinion, I think Sori was baiting him.. by slowing down to the ball trying to entice mientkiewicz to stretch it into a double..

mientkiewicz, takes the bait and is out by a MILE!
    HAHA
    LOVE it!

Wood blows a save for Dempster. I'm guessing Dempster's blown a save for Wood before. Too lazy to check.

I'm watching the gameday pitch-by-pitch tracker. From the stats it looks like Demp is electric again, and is on pace to pitch a full 7 innings. Too bad he's not getting much run support--1 run on 8 hits with 4 left in scoring position, and only 1 BB.

I'm quickly growing to like Lieber exactly where he is. I just wish we had brought him in sooner today. But it's nice to have a long relief guy that we can trust (i.e. not Rusch). If Marquis has another crap 2nd half, Lieber could be a reliever with 10+ wins. That'd be a trip.

Good luck at trying to win a Pennant and having a World Series appearance. As a Rockies fan it will be something I never will forget. Good luck Cubs fans.

Lieber was one of the few positives today.

Its going to be a very frustrating season if we get the leadoff man on in a tie game or one run game, and are unable to play small ball and bring him home. This happened in the 9th, 10th, and 11th I believe.

I thought Wuertz and Lieber did well today. I'd like to know what the hell is up with Lilly.

thank heavens for rule 5 draft picks as pitchers (soto helped him a bit there by swinging at 3-1).

the ugliest win ive seen so far, but I'll take it.

cmon felix! you can DO it!

edit: swinging at neck high fastballs isnt going to do it!
