  • God Bless America at Aug. 25th game.

I just found out today that I, along with the rest of the Marshall High School band, will be playing God Bless America at the August 25th Cubs/Cardinals game. The one thing I don't like about it is that we have to wear red shirts. In case you were wondering, I play the trombone.

That sounds pretty good for you and your band. Too bad they couldn't find something better for you to play.

That's awesome! If they ask you to do the seventh inning stretch too, make sure you don't say Wrigley Stadium...
A lot of people say this honor validates my career, but I didn't work hard for validation. I didn't play the game right because I saw a reward at the end of the tunnel. I played it right because that's what you're supposed to do, play it right and with respect. If this validates anything, it's that learning how to bunt and hit and run and turning two is more important than knowing where to find the little red light at the dug out camera. - Ryne Sandberg

I don't think I'll have to worry about that. This game is at St. Louis.

Just bumping this back up! Don't forget to watch for me tomorrow! I'll be the tall guy playing the trombone!

It wasn't all expense paid. The tickets were $7 each. $7 is still a great price though!
