  • Jaque Jones DFA

Saw this today and I remembered the discussions back and forth regarding Jacque Jones. I liked Jones and I would like to say we got something in return for him, but Jose Ascanio isn't exactly tearing up the minors. (it looks more and more like the Ohman/Infante trade was a dump)

    .193 Batting average against.

I think he is doing what most expected, what did you expect to see from him?

Part of me would still like to have Jones here. He's better than Reed Johnson defensively. But he doesn't help at the plate, even when he's swinging well. He never seems to hit in the same inning as everybody else, and he has no patience. Those handful of Soriano/Jones/Floyd OF days last year were mighty tough to watch.

I don't care if Infante never does anything of value for the Cubs organization. Will Ohman isn't on our team, and we are infinitely better because of that.

I liked Jones, it pained me a bit to see him go, but Ive moved on. I like what I see in Reed right now, Ill take my chances on him.

Jones always frustrated me. He seemed to play well from time to time, but every time we really needed to get a big hit from him it always seemed he stuck out or rolled a grounder to first.

My mistake on Jose Ascanio, I looked at MLB stats (career). Thanks for the correction.
