Ever wonder what it would be like to hit a home run at Wrigley Field? What’d it’d be like to round the bases? What’d it’d be like to make a diving stop at 2nd to turn the double play with your best friend playing short? Well, thanks to the creative minds behind www.LittleCubsField.com you can see what it’s like to play at Wrigley Field… sort of.
Little Cubs Field is a miniature version of Wrigley field that measures 90 feet down the lines and 102 feet to center field and will include actual Ivy taken from Wrigley Field itself. The outfield walls will be brick, covered with ivy, and will have all the twists and turns of the actual wall at Wrigley field, including a basket at the top.
The miniature Wrigley Field, named “Little Cubs Field”, will also feature a carbon copy of the scoreboard from Wrigley, in a smaller form, with authentic hand operated scores as well as the flags atop the scoreboard. Down the lines the foul polls will also feature the retired number flags of Cubs legends Ron Santo, Billy Williams, Ernie Banks and Ryne Sandberg.
Located in Freeport, Illinois, the bleachers at Little Cubs Field will hold 300 people to watch any type of event held at Little Cubs Field, which will likely be for T-Ball, younger Little Leagues, wiffleball, kickball, and will also be available for rent for parties or other events. People of all ages will finally be able to have the Wrigley Field experience.
For those of us that played a little baseball as kids but never quite made the big leagues, this is our chance to take a hack and see if we can land a pitch in the bleachers at Wrigley. This is our chance to see if we can hit a shot that lands on or near the scoreboard. This is our chance to play out the backyard scenarios we always had as kids… “Santo steps up to the plate in game 7 of the World Series with 2 down in the bottom of the ninth on a windy day at Wrigley. Bases loaded, and here comes the 3-2 pitch… Santo swings and sends a drive down the line… If it’s fair its gone… HEY, HEY! CUBS WIN, CUBS WIN! THE CUBS ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS!” Imagine the loudspeakers playing “We Are the Champions” by Queen as you circle the base paths, fists pumping, high fives all around. Its your moment, as you just won the Cubs the World Series.
It’s a nice dream, isn’t it? But at Little Cubs Field, you can play out any scenario you’d like on an exact replica of Wrigley Field, the place where kids dream to play. For your kids it’s the chance to play ball at Wrigley, and for you it’s the chance to be a kid again, even if its just for a couple innings.
Located just off of Highway 20 near Freeport, Little Cubs Field is a definite must for any baseball fan traveling through the area. Even if you don’t like the Cubs this is your chance to play out your childhood fantasies one more time or give your kids the thrill of a lifetime by letting them play like the big boys do. This is your chance to be Ron Santo or Ernie Banks. This is their chance to be Kerry Wood or Derrek Lee. Either way, this is your chance to see Wrigley through the eyes of a big leaguer, something most people never get to do. I encourage you all to stop by Little Cubs Field, because its never too late to realize a childhood dream.

I am not sure what others will think, but I for one think this is a great idea, and would be excited about it if I were a local...
I love how the seats are ALL in the outfield bleachers...
