Thanks a lot, Jim Hendry. LaMahieu and Castillo have found success at the major league level, but only five other players even reached the majors, and only briefly on Cubs teams that were desperate.

Brett Jackson is currently a fitness coach at Uncaged Lifestyle in Berkeley, California. According to their site, Brett prepares individuals for outdoor activity and is certified for nutrition, health, and wellness coaching. Sounds like a really fun job. Here's Brett at work:

Trey McNutt, now age 26, is a pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization after being signed earlier this year. He plays for their Double-A Texas League club, the San Antonio Missions. He has made no appearances yet this season.

Chris Carpenter, now 30, is currently a free agent. He appeared in 6 games for the Reds' AAA affiliate last season.

Jay Jackson, now 28, plays for Hiroshima in the JPCL. He last played in the MLB for the Padres making 6 relief appearances and was released last year.

Looks like Vitters is playing (and struggling) in and independent league. Far cry from being the #3 overall pick in 2007.

It's always pretty cool to look at these old Top Prospects lists through a retrospective lens. I wonder what the Braves list looks like.... Teheran, Arodys Vizcaino, and Randall Delgado are supposed to be our 1-2-3 punch right now...

Looks like Vitters is playing (and struggling) in and independent league. Far cry from being the #3 overall pick in 2007.

It's always pretty cool to look at these old Top Prospects lists through a retrospective lens. I wonder what the Braves list looks like.... Teheran, Arodys Vizcaino, and Randall Delgado are supposed to be our 1-2-3 punch right now...

Well Teheran and vizcaino are actually two of the Braves top pitchers in 2016. Weren't Kimbrel, freeman and Simmons also from that class? Sounds like a great group.

Hayden Simpson hasn't been heard from since he made 3 appearances in the Frontier League in 2013.

Same goes for Reggie Golden after he was released in 2013 by the Cubs.
