It was to foreshadow LaRue's surgery , it he is out more than he normally should be , we have a backup catcher .

as i implied in the transaction thead, this is an almost certain forebearer to LaRue or Valenting being traded. i just don't understand picking up a catcher who on a good day is average defensively AND can't hit when you already have two catchers on the roster who can't hit but are excellent defensively.
