park at Newport on the Levee's parking garage. it's cheaper and easier than parking anywhere in Cincinnati.

It depends on how close to GABP you're parking. It's only a few bucks if you park in the Fountain Square parking lot, and, cheaper if you park by one of the hotels in the area. Not too far of a walk.
How long are you going to be in Northern Kentuc, er, Cincinnati? What exactly are you looking to do?

Fountain Square is in the process of being 'rennovated' (read as the city flushing $50 million down the crapper), and is not a place you want to dwell at for too long after the game.

I did not know that. If I didn't hate Rob and Sheila so much (Rob, mostly) I'd watch the Cincy news more and find out about these things. I haven't been to Fountain Square in a couple years.

                    Shopping, eh?
From downtown, take I-75 north until you reach 275. You'll take it West, toward Indianappolis. Get off on the Rte 4 (Dixie Highway) exit and head North. (Turn right.) About 10 miles or so on the right is Jungle Jim's. Sure, you can't buy clothes or cars there, but . . .

not as i understand it. albeit, i don't know of the (i'm assuming) pub in question, however hte basic premise of the project is to move everything 53' north east...

that's right, i haven't heard a single thing about it being to make it look better, or to improve traffic, or whatever you think it could be...but it's to move the square itself by about 53'.

Just 53'? Is there a rumor Mike Fink buried some gold there or something at the exact location as he paddled down the river, so they're only moving it that short amount of space?
The Rock Bottom is the microbrewery located on the square. It's a popular game day/event spot.
How long is that going to take? I didn't go to any games last season, but I'm planning to this year. Even if I don't, there's the Labor Day Fireworks, Tall Stacks, etc. that will bring me downtown.

If you're just coming to see the game, you can park on Mehring Way between GABP and PBS. I parked there last year and it was $10. It is also easy access back to I-75.
From I-75 north, get off at Freeman Ave. and follow it until it ends. Hang a left on Mehring Way and follow it to the park. I don't remember the exit number but I think it's 2B.

                            Looking for something to do????

Take a tour of the ballpark and go through the Reds HOF. I've done it before and it is very interesting and you will learn alot of neat stuff about the park and Reds History.

One other thing....If you like to watch batting practice..the gates to the ballpark now open 2 hours before all games (both weekday and weekend now).

Or if you really want to you can view batting practice up to 3 hours before the gates open as long as you stay in the Machine Room Restauraunt for 1 hour (you can go to the rest of the ballpark once the regular gates open to the ballpark which is 2 hours prior to the game).

                              See info here:
