              Looking for Billy Campbell photos

These photos you have here are amazing. I have a friend who had a relative that played with the Reds from 1907-1909. Billy Campbell was a pitcher for the team. I would love to find some photographs of him to give to my friend for his birthday. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I am going to revive this dormant thread with a correction. The team pictured above (from post #48 in this thread) is not the Cincinnati Reds--it is the Cleveland Bronchos (today's Indians). The Reds' road uniform in 1902 was also dark, but had "CINCINNATI" spelled out on the chest, whereas the Bronchos had the white C on the chest that year (see the composite below). (The next year, their road uniform had "CLEVELAND" spelled out.)

                  1882 Cincinnati Red Stockings

During the first season of the major league American Association, the league experimented with the players on each team wearing different color uniforms that corresponded with their defensive position. This idea was dropped mid-season, and the teams adopted their own uniforms, but not until after the Red Stockings had posed for a picture. Cincinnati went on to win the league championship that year, their first of eight seasons in the AA. They would not win another league pennant for 37 years.
