  • Reds LHP Harry Perkowsk,93, i passes away was among 30 oldest living major leaguers

Harry Perkowski passed away April 20, at age 93 years, 7 months. He ranked as the 28th oldest major leaguer on Wikipedia's oldest currently living MLB players list up until the time of his death.
He came close to spending his entire career with the Reds and in the Reds organization, the only exception being his final MLB season, 1955, which was spent with the Chicago Cubs.
The big lefty won 12 games in both the 1952 and 1953 seasons. Overall he was 30-36 as a Red and 33-40 in the majors (1947, 1949-1955).
He played at the start of the modern baseball card era and there are baseball cards of him from the Topps and Bowman card companies for the 1952 through 1955 seasons.

Now Johnny Hetki is the only living representative from the 1947 team and with Perkowski's passing, the 1949 club now has no living representatives.
