    Andres Reiner was a scout for the Reds. He died August 3, 2016.
    Reiner, who died Wednesday at 80, never really was able to explain what he saw in Johan Santana that first game, and that's a thing a lot of baseball's best scouts have in common.

    Turk Lown went 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA in 11 relief appearances for the Reds in 1958. Of the 10 remaining 1958 Reds, Alex Grammas is now the oldest at 90. Lown died July 8 at 92.

    (TNS) — He was not a native son, but Turk Lown was Pueblo’s most famous Major League Baseball player.

    Lown died Friday of leukemia at the age of 92.

    Milt Pappas played for the Reds from 1966 to 1968, winning 30 games and losing 29. He was 16-13 in 1967. He died April 19 at 76.

    Milt Pappas, the former Cubs pitcher who famously came one pitch from a perfect game, died Tuesday, Beecher police have confirmed.

    Pappas was 76.
