Hey!!! It's going to be are year. Francis is getting shelled 5-1 do to lack of control and the game gets rained out.

  • #2
Yeah, I pulled up the gamecast here at work early on and saw that Francis had thrown 19 pitches, 17 of them balls, and just cringed. Trailing 5-1 in the third and the game gets rained out? Yes, that is a stroke of good luck...

1st win was a nail biter. I think the Rockies were 0 fer 8 with RISP but the erorr by Glaus opened just enough of a window for the Rockies to squeak past the Cardinals. Nix done good in his 1st MLB game by getting the winning RBI with a bases loaded walk.

Got Cookie on the mound tonight. My favorite. 6:15 MDT

The Rox are 1-2 now, and the bats were silent for the finale. Hopefully, they will come alive at Coors Field against the D-Backs.

Through six innings, the Rockies are making Micah Owings look like Cy Young. Can someone please tell the Rockies that spring training is over and that these games count now? The pitchers they've faced through the first four games can't all be that good....

Through five games, the Rockies have scored a total of 8 runs. I watched the Rays score 7 last night in one inning of their game at Yankee Stadium last night. The Rockies hitters need to break out of this real fast. They were lucky to get the one win they have.

At least Helton is showing up! I'd like to see the other "H" boys do something soon! And Tulo too!

Went to the pennant unveiling last night. Disappointed they lost, just wanted to point out that it is in two places.

                1. Under the Rockies of the main scoreboard in white it says: NL Champions 2007
                2. A purple flag in the three flags inside by left field near the playground in the stadium also says: NL Champions 2007

You really can't tell if they are permanent or not. I hope the flag is.

                  Yeah Baby!!!

Bats once again were silent until Hollidays 2rHR in the bottom of 8.

This one is a Rockies Winner!!! 2-1

Glad that Glavine got a no decision. See that the umps still give Glavine some borderline pitches. More then Cook got anyways.

Holliday went CF with the HR on a cold night just to show you how strong the kid is.

The game tonight was the shortest 9 inning game in Coors Field history. 2hrs and 5 minutes. I believe the old record was like 2 hrs and 15 minutes in a game that Josh Fogg pitched.

                    Umpires: HP--Marty Foster. 1B--Derryl Cousins. 2B--Angel Hernandez. 3B--Eric Cooper.
                    Time: 2:05.
                    Attendance: 24,304.
                    Weather: 41 degrees, overcast.
Wind: 6 mph, in from center.
Tomorrow we have Ubaldo pitching. I can smell 2 in a row

                    Code:
                    Atlanta 3-3 (Road: 0-1) 8:35pm ET

Colorado 1-5 (Home: 0-3) SS, FSRM

                    ATL: J. Jurrjens (1-0, 3.38)
                    COL: U. Jiménez (0-1, 5.40)

Aaron Cook threw a great game. Love it when Cook is on, it's why he is my favorite pitcher of the Rockies.

                    A. Cook 7.0 2 1 1 1 1 0 3.46

Yeah, it was quick game. I turned on the game and it was the 6th inning, I thought it was going to be the 4th. Great pitching duel by Cook and Glavine. Lets turn this into a win streak!

Good game tonight with the Rockies getting their share of lucky hits. Makes up for that one inning where the 3 at'em balls to all 3 OF positions.

                        Code:
                         Atlanta 3-5 (Road: 0-3) 6:35pm MDT

Colorado 3-5 (Home: 2-3) FSS, FSRM

                        ATL: C. James (0-0, 0.00)
                        COL: M. Redman (0-1, 6.35)
Cm'on Redman. 3 in a row would be nice.

Last night was good, but the bats still aren't where they need to be. Through 8 games, the Rockies have scored 16 runs, an average of exactly 2 per game (I do like it when the math is easy). Aaron Cook and Ubaldo Jimenez had very good starts in the last two games. I wish the Rockies could have scored early to give Cook the win the night before last. The way he pitched, he deserved a win. But he got a ND thanks to that anemic offense.
