  • Sanchez and Schmoll to the Mets

Dodgers acquire Seo and Humalack from Mets for Sanchez and Schmoll.
Using a stolen chant from Boston Celtics fans whenever an L.A. team is playing up there just reeks of inferiority complex.

If hitting a baseball is the toughest thing to do in sports, then pitching must be the easiest thing to do in sports.

I don't like this move. Acquiring pitchers that only throw well against you doesn't really improve the team. Especially when the team just got older.

I guess it all depends on where Seo will pitch this year. If it's in the rotation, then Weaver is gone. If it's in the bullpen, then we might still have a shot at him (we have until Sunday to agree to terms with him).

Seo had a 2.59 ERA at Shea Staduim what do you think his ERA at Chavez Ravine will be.

I like Seo and we didn't have to give up much for him.

He is 2-0 with a 1.26 career ERA at Dodger Stadium (including an 8-inning, 1-run performance in August of 2005). With the way Mets management is working right now, maybe Colletti should have gotten Heilman instead of Humalack.

Hehe, I doubt even Minaya would have given up Heilman in this trade...

I'm hoping that Seo will fit in as middle relief and/or a spot SP, and that we can still resign Weaver, but yesterday Colletti said that it is more unlikely than not that Weaver will go elsewhere. Seo is certainly not Weaver, but he's not terrible, and I think he will be the guy to give us 5-6 solid, if not spectacular, innings each time out (I hope!).
Regarding the Dodger Stadium vs. Shea Stadium question, I believe that every pitcher likes to throw at Chavez, or at least they should:

Off Topic: Check out Sandy's ERA at home from '62-'66 - sick!

Bottom line: I believe that Seo will certainly help us, while I think that Humalack is a "wait and see". Both Sanchez and Schmoll were very good at times, but both were also pretty inconsistent. Time will tell how this works out . . .
