LA Dodger uniforms

It's nice to see the names on the backs again. I've always associated players with numbers and the past couple seasons were hard to "just see numbers." #16 was Hideo Nomo, so it was hard to see that number in the outfield and batting lefthanded! #55 behind the plate was unusual as I often remember that number on the mound. And I always and forever will have #23 limping and fist pumping his way around the bases, not as the opening day pitcher.
One great thing about having no names on the backs, is that it really distinguishes the fans from the die hards. I remember at spring training and also during batting practice during regular season games, fans were always wondering who number so and so was.

I've always said that the only good thing about JD Drew being a Dodger is that we never got to see him play with the name on the back of the jersey.

Hello all: Can anyone help me out with some questions re: the Dodgers' uniforms? What years did they have names on the back of their shirts (I realize they do THIS season)? I seem to remember (recently): no names on their shirts. Another question: what years did it say "Los Angeles" on their road uniforms, or better: when did they stop having "Dodgers" on their road uniforms? I've also noticed that the Dodgers have removed the white backing to the blue "Los Angeles". This is the way the road uniforms looked in the early days in LA. Any explanation(s) re: that? Thank you in advance.

You Dodger fans correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is correct:

The Dodgers added names in 1972, removed them in 2005-06, and put them back in 2007-present.

The road uniforms had "Los Angeles" from 1959-69, and again from 1999-present.

The white border was removed in 2007.
