  • A Bad Year

It's been an awful year; seeing the LA team win the division was truly nauseating. However, perhaps something good can be salvaged if the Cardinals sweep. Game One is out of the way: two more to go.

Wouldn't it be more pleasurable, though, to see the Dodgers make itthe World Series, be leading in the botto m of the ninth in Game 7 with two outs and then have Los Angeles suddenly be swept into the ocean on the crest of a giant tidal wave? You have to think big.

WOW, Commish, THAT sounds like a GREAT SCENARIO, one that I would ordinarily love to see happen. However, I must agree with the good Professor, I would prefer they just be SWEPT AWAY by that SEA OF RED in ST. LOUIS!

The way I look at IT, LOSING builds character........WE would even let them use OUR well worn winter alibi of "WAIT 'TIL NEXT YEAR"......for the next 60 years or so! They have OUR NAME....it then stands to reason that they should also have OUR PAIN!!!

I might settle for the tidal wave.

Interesting scenario, but because MLB has that asinine rule saying that the winner of the All-Star game gets HFA in the WS, LA can't host Game 7.

Anyway, I seem to be the only one who thinks that LA has a chance against the Cards.

Who said anything about the Dodgers having to be there at the time?

Unfortunately, I'll have to be there. That's the problem.

What's wit da Dodger bashing, how is it nauseating that we made the division, we were the best team in the division. the Giants have no bullpen starting pitching is suspect and padres hitting is sparadic we were the only team that was consistant almost the whole year. So blah quit it.

I'm about one third less nauseous than I was two days ago. Two more Cardinal wins and I'll have my appetite back again.

                      Allow me to explain.

Dodger Deb and donzblock are two of our most experienced and knowledgeable baseball fans here at BBF. They were BROOKLYN Dodgers fans, and when O'Malley stole the team in 1957, it wasn't the same for them. LA stole the name, uniform, history, etc. Naturally, you wouldn't root for such teams, so any success by the LA team is nauseating for the Brooklynites like Dodger Deb, donzblock, Jackie42, et al. You wouldn't think that Expo fans would root for the Washington team, would you?

Last night was so satisfying that I am starting to think about food again. It would be especially nice if the Cards clinched in LA. Tym, you can exact revenge easily by appearing on the Phillies' forum and attacking that pathetic team. Or would they be too easy and obvious a target? Or you can emulate the esteemed PR man on your LA team, the guy who intimidated a FOX reporter into erasing a tape of Milton Bradley's most recent tirade. Or you can follow mojorisin71's example and put everything into a rational perspective.

Just caught a few minutes of the game in la-la land tonight and noticed that the Chavez Ravine is almost full! Was there a casting call put out by that left coast team.....OR did these people who showed up just THINK there was?

The noise was canned. The sleeping fans there had been gently carted in by management. One of the sleepers was Arnold Schwarzenegger, who had to be aroused from a stupor and propped up so that he could give the appearance of knowing what had happened when Green hit one out. His eyes, however, were still closed as his hands collided with each other in an awkward simulation of applause. His wife appeared to be embarrassed.
