Will Andrew Friedman's small market magic translate to big market success with the Dodgers?

He's taking a lot of chances for a team who's expectations is to win a World Series... All we can do is hope at this point is that what Kasten sees and what I've read about his abilities are true!

Early reports are that Friedman loves Donnie. We will see how he feels in August if the Dodgers are behind the Padres or Giants

I know Reports are Friedman loves Donnie, but my guess is that ownership will not be happy with anything less than the NLCS at the very least...

Not participating on these threads because I no longer get an opportunity to watch the Dodgers play (except an occasional game against either the D'Backs or Padres or if they play an interleague game against the Angels. Dodgers management, with TWC, have crapped all over the fans, and MLB still have us blacked out in Las Vegas even though we have no other access.

No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference. ~Tommy Lasorda

Clayton Kershaw has made five starts this season and has a 3.78 ERA with a league-leading number of strikeouts. The strikeouts are good, but the ERA is a tad high.

Clayton Kershaw through five starts in previous years:

                      2010: 3.07 ERA
                      2011: 3.00 ERA
                      2012: 1.78 ERA
                      2013: 2.14 ERA
                      2014: 3.49 ERA

Is anyone worried about the somewhat elevated ERA so far this year?

.384 BABIP for a guy with a career 270ish before the season started. Nothing more nothing less. Peripherals are fantastic. Not the least bit worried.

Not at all... Last year he even missed all that time from injury and he ended up not only with the Cy Young, but League MVP!!!

I'd be worried if the ERA was closer to 4.50 or if the peripherals were bad. The Law of Regression will soon take its course.

Bovada had the Dodgers odds for winning the World Series at 17-2 on April 1, now it's 6-1, they are the favorite.
