I'm just wondering if any Marlins fans can tell me - Has Javier Vazquez has retired? I don't see his name on any Spring Training roster. If he is retiring then that's kind of an early retirement (age 35) by current standards. What would be strange about him retiring now is that after some early to mid-season difficulties he finished on an strong upswing, pitching great baseball over the final two months of the season. He finished at 13-11 last year and most of those wins and high strikeout games came late in the season. He even recorded a few shutouts and complete games in that stretch of the season.
If he's done he finishes at 165-160 with over 2,500 strikeouts - but personally I wish he'd played longer and even taken a shot at 200 career wins.
