  • 1997 World Series ring design

I have a question on the design of the shanks (sides) of the Marlins 1997 World Series ring. What is the background design behind the trophy and the Marlin? Here is a link showing the shanks is good detail: http://legendaryauctions.com/LotDetail.aspx?lotid=27760
Is it wave with a rising sun behind it? If so why, was it to indicate that the team was supposed to be a making a "big splash" in the game?
Is it some sort of structure in Miami, a bridge maybe? I'm not from Miami so I wouldn't know.

I'd say both identical backgounds are bridges and nothing more...due to the intracoastal and the beaches from Miami to the Palm Beaches, briges over water abound in the Tri County Area.

    Hope that does it !!!!

Thank you. One more follow up question. Does it look like a specific bridge or is do you think it is just a bridge in general?

It looks like the "one" crossing to Key Biscayne from the Brickell Area..and or the one from Downtown to the Port of Miami.
