    • Friendship born from Boston bombing still strong for Salty

Marlins catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia first met Jeff Bauman when the Red Sox visited those injured by the bombings at last year's Boston Marathon. From there, a friendship was born. • Fernandez gets first look at Braves since scuffle

The last time Jose Fernandez faced the Braves, he gave up an Evan Gattis homer and little else in seven strong innings. But the story of the night on Sept. 11, 2013, was Fernandez's two-run home run off Mike Minor in the sixth. After standing at the plate to admire his shot, the benches cleared.

                  • Slump doesn't diminish Stanton's stellar April

Giancarlo Stanton entered Tuesday 0-for-11 since hitting a walk-off grand slam in the Marlins' 8-4 win against the Mariners on Friday night at Marlins Park. However, the slump is a small blip in Stanton's otherwise torrid April.
