Before his latest setback, Rafael Furcal was so close to returning. Now, he remains optimistic he still isn't that far away. The 36-year-old is dealing with a right groin strain, which he suffered last Friday night while playing for Double-A Jacksonville.

            • Marlins, Eovaldi eye series win in repeat matchup

After squaring off against each other in a pitchers' duel last week, Braves righty Aaron Harang and Marlins righty Nathan Eovaldi will meet again Wednesday at Marlins Park in the second game of a three-game National League East set.

              • Fernandez delivers repeat stellar performance in rout.

With ample run support, Jose Fernandez didn't have to go K-crazy on Tuesday night in the Marlins' 9-0 rout of the Braves at Marlins Park. Instead, Fernandez efficiently cruised along for eight innings, allowing two hits while striking out eight.

                  • Fernandez even more dangerous with changeup

Add a hard changeup to the list of what opposing hitters have to worry about when facing Jose Fernandez. In Miami's 9-0 win over the Braves on Tuesday night, Fernandez estimates he threw close to 30 changeups. But they weren't your usual circle changeup; they often were buzzing in around 90 mph

                    • Leading by nine, Marlins challenge; call overturned

Marlins manager Mike Redmond found himself in a tricky spot in the fifth inning on Wednesday night, asking for a replay challenge with his team up by nine runs. The play in question was Adeiny Hechavarria's two-out hit to center off Atlanta reliever David Hale.

No longer can Giancarlo Stanton be labeled a "slow starter." If anything, Stanton has made a strong case to be the National League Player of the Month for April.

                        • Marlins reward Eovaldi in another rout of Braves

At last, Nathan Eovaldi was the beneficiary of a big windfall of run support. It was long overdue, but the Marlins right-hander will certainly take it. Marcell Ozuna blasted a three-run homer, Christian Yelich tacked on a two-run shot and Miami rolled to a 9-3 win over Atlanta on Wednesday night at Marlins Park.

                          • Alvarez aims to follow lead, complete sweep of Braves.

The Braves have had some success against Giancarlo Stanton, limiting him to a .200 (4-for-20) batting average and three RBIs through five games this year. But with help from the powerful right fielder's home run on Tuesday night and a double on Wednesday, the Marlins have positioned themselves to potentially become the first club to sweep the Braves this year
