  • Approach paying off at home for Marlins hitters
Marlins Park, often lamented by hitters because of its expansive dimensions, has become a distinct home-field advantage for the Marlins. The numbers are showing it.

    • Marlins rally to finish sweep of Braves, reach .500. :cap:

The Marlins didn't need Giancarlo Stanton's power, instead capitalizing on his placement of a crucial RBI single that helped pull off a 5-4 comeback win over the Braves on Thursday night at Marlins Park. Stanton and Casey McGehee both slapped run-scoring singles in the seventh inning that proved the difference on a night the Marlins completed their first sweep at home over the Braves since June 13-15, 2006

        • Koehler tries to outduel Beckett, stifle Dodgers.

Dodgers starter Josh Beckett will once again face the team that helped him become a Major Leaguer. The Marlins drafted Beckett with the second overall pick in the 1999 First-Year Player Draft, and the rest is history. The veteran will pitch in Miami on Friday night as the Dodgers open a weekend series at Marlins Park.

              • Stanton has strong opening month by using whole field

The National League Player of the Month voting didn't go his way, but Giancarlo Stanton certainly is off to a start worth mentioning. The slugger set a franchise record for RBIs before May with 31, and he connected on eight home runs.

                • Marlins call on Alvarez to deliver series win over Mets

Curtis Granderson is finally heating up at the plate, helping the Mets shrug off at least some of the offensive doldrums that plagued them throughout April. If it's a trend for Granderson, the Mets will take it -- particularly with eight of their next 12 games within the division, including Tuesday's contest at Marlins Park. Right-hander Bartolo Colon will start for the Mets opposite Henderson Alvarez, who must take extra heed of New York's cleanup hitter.

                  • Fernandez's dominance yields April hardware

Every time Jose Fernandez takes the mound, something special may happen. When you string a bunch of starts together, you have the makings of a collective award. On Monday, Fernandez received just that. Fernandez, the Marlins' ace, was named the National League Pitcher of the Month for April.

                    • McGehee caps Marlins' late rally in walk-off style

Walk-off wins are trending at Marlins Park. Casey McGehee had his turn to be mobbed by teammates after delivering an RBI single in the ninth inning that rallied the Marlins to a 4-3 win over the Mets on Monday night.
