Marlins' Butler reflects on meaning of Father's Day

A husband, a father of four and a grandfather, Marlins third-base coach Brett Butler takes his responsibility as a parent seriously. Father's Day, to him, is more than wishing someone a wonderful day.

Marlins turn to Alvarez to stop Bucs in finale

Henderson Alvarez on Sunday in Miami will try to slow down the hot-hitting Pirates in the finale of the three-game set. Opposite him will be Vance Worley, who will be making his Pittsburgh debut.

Well, Darvish didn't disappoint. That was his first complete game shutout, which is a little surprising after the near no-hitters he's had the past couple of years. My son and I thought we might see a rare feat in the 8th. Darvish struck out the first two batters on three pitches each and went to 0-2 on the third batter. I was thinking we might see a three strikeouts on 9 pitches inning (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...n_nine_pitches). I don't know what Yu was trying to throw on that ninth pitch, but I could tell from the upper deck that it wasn't even close to the strike zone. He did strike the batter out on the tenth pitch of the inning though.
