It's been quiet on the ownership front.. What's going on?? I hope the recent selling spree is not another fire sale for the new owner..

Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria has agreed to sell the franchise for $1.2 billion to a group including retired shortstop Derek Jeter, reports Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald. However, Jeter will have the main say over the baseball and business sides of the organization.

hopefully that means they are doing a smart rebuild to compete again and not a get cheaper long term move. last thing the marlins need is an owner even more greedy than loria. some people always feared that jeter is only the face to make the marlins look better while the real owner bruce sherman would milk the marlins like loria did.
