Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria has agreed to sell the franchise for $1.2 billion to a group including retired shortstop Derek Jeter, reports Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald. The faction also features wealthy investor Bruce Sherman, the former chairman of Private Capital Management. Sherman, not Jeter, will be the control person, per Spencer. However, Jeter will have the main say over the baseball and business sides of the organization.
