Brewers general manager Doug Melvin revealed Friday a notable offseason transaction that somehow fell through the cracks.
Immediately after the 2007 season, which saw the Brewers post a winning record for the first time in 15 years but squander away a wide lead in the National League Central, the team picked up manager Ned Yost's option for 2009. That means the skipper heads to Spring Training next week with two years left on his contract.
