When we were talking to general manager Doug Melvin on Friday about the opening of spring training, he noted that the Brewers have invited only nine non-roster players to camp, probably the lowest number ever.

The small number of non-roster players invited shows how few jobs there are to be won on this team. The Brewers are so set at most positions and so overloaded with pitchers that Melvin saw no need to invite a bunch of non-roster players that would only clog up the works.

There reason for it all makes sence but call me crazy but shouldn't they invite pitchers so that they don't get to a very early start at over useing there pitchers.
