JS Online: Great expectations
Because of his immense potential and the fact he finally got past a wrist injury to make an impact offensively over the final two months of last season, Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks is considered a prime candidate to "break out" in 2008.
Manager Ned Yost has no doubts that Weeks will fulfill that expectation.
"I consider it almost a done deal," said Yost, whose sixth spring camp as Brewers manager opens next weekend.
"It's just a matter of time. You saw what he can do in August and September last year. It was unbelievable, the difference in how he swung the bat."
