With Boras doing Princes bargaining for him, the chances of signing him long term seem slim-to-none. h

Multi-year deal for Fielder unlikely now

Multi-year deal for Fielder unlikely now - Brewers Blog

Phoenix - The Brewers are in the process of deciding which young players they'd like to offer multi-year deals this year. If they decide first baseman Prince Fielder fits that bill, the odds won't be in their favor of getting it done.

Fielder said he would listen to any multi-year offers the Brewers want to make but made it clear he'll leave any bargaining to agent Scott Boras.

"I'll let my agent deal with it," said Fielder, who is eligible for arbitration for the first time after this season. "I'll hear his opinion, then make my decision. He's all for me, all for the players. He tries to get the best for us."

It's good to see the Brewers will atless make a run at keeping Fielder. Lets hope the Brewers can indeed to do so.

Attanasio: "We'll figure out a way" to pay Fielder - Topix

Brewers owner Mark Attanasio says he and general manager Doug Melvin have already done a lot of background preparation for offering multiyear contracts to Prince Fielder, Ryan Braun, Rickie Weeks, J.J. Hardy, Corey Hart, and Yovani Gallardo and may even approach them before the season starts."
